Tom Hooker, pseudonimo di Thomas Beecher Hooker, è nato a Greenwich, Connecticut, il 18 novembre 1957. È stato un cantante, compositore e produttore molto noto nel genere Italo-Disco degli anni ottanta. I genitori di Tom si stabilirono in Europa quando aveva solo sei mesi, passando prima per l'Italia, poi per la Germania e infine per la Svizzera, a Ginevra. Nel 1980, Tom Hooker si trasferì definitivamente in Italia per perseguire la sua carriera musicale. Dopo aver registrato i suoi primi singoli sotto l'etichetta milanese "Harmony", nel 1982 passò alla casa discografica "Full Time" e realizzò un 45 giri cantato in italiano intitolato "Dove andiamo". Nel 1983, ebbe un'esperienza cinematografica recitando nel film di Riccardo Sesani "Jocks", ambientato nel mondo delle discoteche. La svolta nella sua carriera avvenne nel 1984 quando conobbe i produttori di musica Italo-Disco Roberto Turatti e Miki Chieregato. Con loro iniziò una collaborazione che si estese per tutto il decennio degli anni '80. Firmandosi H.T. Beecher, Hooker compose spesso i testi sia delle sue canzoni, sia di brani interpretati da altri artisti lanciati dagli stessi produttori, come ad esempio "U.S.S.R." di Eddy Huntington e i primi brani di Den Harrow. Tra i suoi successi ci sono "Looking For Love" (1986), "Atlantis", "Help Me" (1987) e "Feeling Okay" (1988). Ha anche partecipato al Festival di Sanremo nel 1981 con il brano "Toccami". Attualmente, Tom Hooker vive a Las Vegas, negli Stati Uniti, con sua moglie Suzanne. Tom Hooker, continua a essere attivo nel mondo della musica. La sua presenza su social media e la partecipazione a eventi legati alla musica Italo-Disco mostrano il suo impegno continuo nella scena musicale.
