"Mirage" is a project created in 1983 by the two brothers Ivana Spagna and Giorgio Spagna. "Woman" is the first solo dance album recorded by Ivana Spagna. Born in Valeggio sul Mincio in 1954, she took her first steps into the world of music in 1969, when in January she participated to the fourth edition of the "Girogarda" competition with the song "When you smile", written for her by Athos Lorenzetti. In 1971 it was put under contract by the Dischi Ricordi label to record a 45 rpm with the first Italian version of "Mamy Blue" by Herbert Pagani and Hubert Giraud, with b-side " È finita la primavera"; the 45 rpm was not successful, perhaps due to the greater confirmation of the version sung by Dalida; so in 1972, after the release of a 45 rpm with a song written by Bruno Lauzi, "Ari ari", with b-side "Dio mai", the record company did not renew the contract. During the seventies Spagna sang with his group, the Opera Madre, which includes his brother, Giorgio Theo Spagna, and his then-partner, Alfredo Larry Pignagnoli and played in various discos and dance halls in Italy. At the beginning of the eighties, Ivana began to make dance music, first lending her voice to successful groups such as "Fun Fun", then she started singing with her own image, but using Mirage's pseudonyms, Barbara York, Carol Kane and Yvonne Kay, with the latter will record "I've got the music in me" and "Rise up for my love", both Disco d'Oro. At the same time she is a chorister and works as an author, signing, among others, the song "Take me to the top" from the Advance group. In 1982 he participated, as a female voice, in the choirs of Mari del sud by Sergio Endrigo in the homonymous album.
