Taylor Dayne, stage name of Leslie Wunderman, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Daughter of Laura Charlotte and Jack Wunderman, Leslie was born in Baldwin (New York) on March 7, 1962. After graduating from a Baldwin high school, she began singing in the rock group "Felony" and later in the band "Next". After college, Leslie decided to pursue a solo career and under the pseudonym "Les Lee" recorded two singles: "I'm The One You Want" (1985) and "Tell Me Can You Love Me" (1986). In 1987 signed a contract with the record label “Arista Records” and under the new pseudonym “Taylor Dayne” released the single “Tell It To My Heart". The song achieved instant success worldwide, reaching number one in many Nations This won't be Taylor Dayne's only success, who achieved three gold records in the United States with "Tell It To My Heart", "I'll Always Love You" and "Love Will Lead You Back". In 1990, "Love Will Lead You Back" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Taylor Dayne received two Grammy Award nominations, won an American Music Award, and won multiple New York Music Awards. In her long career, Taylor Dayne has sold over seventy-five million records worldwide, and the famous American magazine "Rolling Stone" ranked her eighteenth among the best dance singers of all time. As an actress, Taylor Dayne participated in the 1997 science fiction television series "Nightman" and in various independent films: Fool's Paradise (1997), Stag (1997) and Jesus the Driver (2004). In her private life she has never married but is the mother of two children: Astaria and Levi.
