Savage, also known as Robyx, pseudonym of Roberto Zanetti, was born in Massa Carrara on 28 November 1956. "Savage" is an Italian singer, composer and record producer. He began his musical career as a singer/keyboardist in various groups such as "Fathima e i Pronipoti", "Sangrià", "Santarosa" and "Taxi". With "Santarosa" he achieved success with the songs "Souvenir" and "Piano Piano", becoming part of the Italian charts. In the "Taxi" band he met Adelmo Fornaciari, aka Zucchero, and together they created the single "To Miami". After this first publication, he will undertake several collaborations with Fornaciari. In the 1980s, it was fashionable to use international names. Roberto Zanetti was passionate about a comic called "Doc Savage" and decided to use the pseudonym "Savage" with the French pronunciation. He achieved his first success as a soloist in 1983 with the song "Don't Cry Tonight", repeated the following year with "Only You", a song with which he became very famous in all European countries. The song "Don't Cry Tonight", Roberto wrote in a quarter of an hour with an old typewriter. Since Roberto Zanetti didn't know how to dance, he had to invent something special before going on stage. In his first appearances, he had the idea of using his arms and placing his hands in front of his eyes. In the meantime he dedicated himself to the production of other singers: Rose with "Magic Carillon", G.A.N.G. with the medley "Incantations/Foreign Affair", Kamillo with "Buenas Noches", Claudio Mingardi with "Starman". In the following years he founded his personal recording studio, Casablanca, and his record label, "Dance World Attack", riding the wave of the new musical phenomenon born in the second half of the eighties, house music. Among the numerous productions, mention should be made of the Italian version of a Kraze hit entitled "The Party", sung by Rubix and Pianonegro in the song of the same name. In 1989 he recorded "I Just Died in Your Arms", a Hi-NRG remake of the "Cutting Crew" song. In the early 1990s he produced Double You's song "Please Don't Go", which reached number one in many countries except the United Kingdom and the United States. In 1994 he released the album "Strangelove", which contained various remixes of his old songs and four remixes of the song Strangelove (by Depeche Mode). Also in the nineties he published under the "DWA (Dance World Attack)" label, the first album by Corona, an artist produced by Checco Bontempi who composed "The Rhythm Of The Night" and all her other hits for her. He then wrote and produced a new Ice Mc album which contained the hits “Think About The Way” and “It's A Rainy Day”. Thanks to this last collaboration he met Alessia Aquilani, aka Alexia, and from that moment, believing in the artist's great potential, he dedicated himself almost exclusively to producing and writing songs for her, launching her throughout Europe, including England. At the beginning of 2000 he wrote and produced “www.mipiacitu” by Gazosa, then returned to collaborate with Zucchero. Together with the bluesman from Reggio Emilia he signed some great hits such as "Baila", "Ahum" and "Bacco Perbacco". In 2002 he had a daughter called Matilde and in 2017 he returned to collaborate with Zucchero for the recording of the single "Un'altra storia", contained in Wanted (The Best Collection). At the beginning of 2019 he began recording a new album entitled "Love And Rain". The album, which included 16 new songs, was released in early 2020. It was released on various European record labels, including the Russian label "Warner Music Russia". In that period he lived in Poland for a few months to promote his collection "Hits", published on the Polish label "Magic Records".
