"Righeira" are an Italian musical duo formed by the "fake" brothers Micheal and Johnson Righeira. Actually, the two members of the group are from Turin, they are not brothers and are called Stefano Rota and Stefano Righi. The two have known each other since school and it was in those years of high school that they began to enter the world of music. At the beginning of 1982, the duo made use of the record production of the La Bionda brothers, successful Italo-Disco producers, with whom they signed a production contract until 1987. In the spring of 1983 was published the single “Vamos A La Playa" and became the catchphrase of that summer, reaching the first place of the Italian Hit Parade (staying there for seven weeks) and the first places in all the European rankings, selling over three million copies. The success was resounding, perhaps the first, true summer torment of Italian discography, and the Righeira became the best-known faces of that summer. Michael and Johnson Righeira tried again the following year with "No Tengo Dinero", another holiday megahit, another Spanish-like piece, another icon of the eighties, of the desire to have fun even when there is little money in your pocket. In 1985, another huge international success with the song "L'Estate Sta Finendo", this time with an Italian text. The song, in spite of the title was launched when the holiday season had just begun and with this song the Righeira will win the 1985 Festivalbar. On November 19, 1993, Stefano Righi was arrested, along with thirty-seven other people, for drug dealing. He remained in prison for five months, only to be acquitted at the end of the trial. Reunited again in 1999, the Righeira realized in 2001 an EP with different versions of their classic "Vamos a la playa."
