Radiorama: A Pillar of Italo Dance - Successes, Evolution, and Collaborations
Radiorama represents a pivotal chapter in the history of Italian dance music of the 80s and 90s. Born from the ingenuity of composers and producers Aldo Martinelli and Mauro Farina, and enhanced by the voice of Simona Zanini, this project has left an indelible mark on the Italian music scene.
Their recording debut came in 1985 with the single "Chance To Desire", which featured the alternating voices of Marco Bresciani, under the pseudonym "Hank Shostack", and Simona Zanini, who also wrote the lyrics. The synergy between Farina and Zanini was consolidated with the second single, "Desire," where Mauro Farina joined Simona Zanini as the lead vocalist. The debut album, "Desires And Vampires" (1985), achieved notable success, thanks to iconic tracks such as "Hey Hey" and "Vampires", the latter performed by Elena Ferretti.
In 1986, Simona Zanini embarked on new paths, but Mauro Farina, in collaboration with Giuliano Crivellente, continued Radiorama's journey, churning out new hits. Clara Moroni became the new female voice of the project. The 1987 single "Yeti" established itself as a true phenomenon, exceeding 500,000 copies sold worldwide. This milestone marked the beginning of the second album, "The 2° Album", which also included the track "Aliens". The third album, "The Legend" (1988), contained the single "ABCD", which conquered the charts in Italy and Spain.
In subsequent years, Radiorama explored the Eurobeat genre, without forgetting their roots. In 1993, the group made a comeback with "Aliens 2 (The Nightmare)", a track that renewed their past success. During the 90s, the male voice was entrusted to Mauro Farina, while former dancer Angelo Morales was designated as the official vocalist. In the two-year period of 1998-1999, Radiorama embarked on a collaboration with the French project "TX Express", creating songs such as "Give Me The Night", "Beautiful Man", "Ninna Ninna Oh", and "More Time".
In 2002, the album "Yesterday Today Tomorrow" was released, a collection of remixes and covers of their historical hits, testifying to their lasting influence. Radiorama's story continues to evolve, confirming the group's pioneering role in the Italian and international dance scene.
