"Queen Samantha" was a musical project of the Disco Music genre produced in the 70s by the Parisian musician Harry Chalkitis. Harry Chalkitis is a composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist born in “Cairo” (Egypt). Chalkitis moved to Greece with his parents when he was still a child. In addition to having created the "Queen Samantha" project, Harry worked as a composer during his career for many artists including Demis Roussos, Mirelle Mathieu and Dalida. Gloria Brooks, a singer from Chicago, was the lead singer on many of the "Queen Samantha" recordings. All songs were co-written by Chalkitis and his wife Myriam (except for one cover which was included on the album "The Letter"). Harry Chalkitis recorded the tracks while living in Paris and the records were released on French label Atoll Records. In United States, the records were released on Henry Stone's "Marlin" label. The singles that made this project famous were "Take A Chance", "Sweet San Francisco" and "The Letter". Other singles that entered the charts were "Mama Rue”, "Funky Celebration", "Close Your Eyes" and "Give Me Action".
