The band is formed by the brothers Pino, Lino and Rossana Nicolosi to which is added the singer Dora Carofiglio (who later became Lino’s wife). Informally, the four have been playing together since 1979 (the year when the Nicolosi brothers know Carofiglio). The first awards come during their first concerts in the city clubs where they can recreate international atmospheres during the execution of their songs thanks to simple and incisive arrangements, letting the jazz, funky, soft rock, pop rock and new wave influences of singers like Al Jarreau, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Genesis and Pink Floyd shine through. At the same time they set up their own recording studio, self-producing some albums whose distribution is then entrusted to important Italian labels (Five Records, Baby Records, etc.) and international (WEA, Warner Music, ZTT, etc.). In 1984, the single “Movin' On” depopulated the Italian charts with almost 100,000 copies sold and won the "Best Revelation" award awarded by the television broadcast Azzurro '84. At the end of the same year the single "The Only One" and their first album with the same title came out “Novecento”. The second turn came in 1995. Also brought to the fore abroad by the Five Record. The “Novecento” closed a contract with the ZTT, one of the most prestigious Anglo-Saxon record companies distributed by Warner Music and following with the prestigious American label Atlantic. 1997 marks the end of the first artistic phase of the “Novecento”. Comes out the album “C'è un mondo che” (the only one with lyrics in Italian) is released and begins their production phase. In 1998 they opened a new recording studio in San Giuliano, where they live. This second phase sees the “Novecento”very close to jazz music. They begin to produce international artists from the soul and funk also interested in arrangements. In 2005, in collaboration with the American guitarist Stanley Jordan, the album "Dreams Of Peace" was released; in Italy it is published in the name of Stanley Jordan featuring Novecento and in the United States in the name of Novecento / Stanley Jordan. The single "Easy Love" reached the top position of the prestigious radio CD 101.9 which at the time was broadcasting from the Empire State Building in New York. In 2006 they produced the song by Sting "Lullaby To An Anxious Child" included in the album "Together As One" by Gregg Kofi Brown (current vocalist of band "Osibisa") with guests Sting, Dominic Miller (Sting's guitarist) and Novecento. In the spring of 2008, the “Cry” single comes out, which climbs to the top of the Italian singles list and becomes in a few days the song most downloaded from iTunes. It follows a few months away Stop the time, another single of success, both previewers of the “Secret” album.
