“Hi-Gloss” was an American musical project created in 1981 by Giuliano Salerni. "You'll Never Know" was the biggest hit from "Hi-Gloss". The song was written and arranged by Phil Hurtt and Giuliano Salerni, who brought together a team of session musicians to produce some hit songs. "You'll Never Know" was sung by the sumptuous lead vocals of Bonita Taylor, with future star "Luther Vandross" on backing vocals. The track became very popular with club DJs and the soul-friendly section of the music press. "You'll Never Know" spent four consecutive weeks in the Top 20 and peaked at #12. In the autumn of 1981 the album "Hi-Gloss" was released; in addition to the hit "You'll Never Know" the less successful single "I'm Totally Yours" was also included.
