"Gina X Performance" was an Electro-Pop project created in Cologne (Germany) and composed by singer Gina Kikoine and writer and producer Zeus B. Held. In the early 1970s, Zeus Bernd Held was part of the rock band "Birth Control". In 1978 he left the group and released two solo albums. In that same year, Zeus met the singer Gina Kikoine with whom he collaborated for the single "No G.D.M.". The song was a huge success and allowed them to perform on November 1, 1979 in Vienna (Austria) in front of a crowd of 14,000 people, sharing the stage with the "Boney M.", "Clout" and "Ludwig Hirsch". In 1979, they released their first album, Nice Mover; the songs were created with experimental sounds inspired by disco rhythms. In 1980 the new single "Strip-Tease" and the second album "X-Traordinarie" were released. After the third and final album of 1981, Voyeur, the band "Gina X Performance" broke up. Zeus B. Held contributed to other successes by collaborating with the Rockets, Dead Or Alive, John Foxx, Nina Hagen, Win, Die Krupps, Fashion and Man Without Hats. Gina Kikoine, a graduate in art history, lives in Germany and is still active on the art scene as a writer and organizer.
