"Baltimora" was an Italian musical project, still considered a one-hit wonder thanks to the single "Tarzan Boy". The songs were sung in the recording studio by Maurizio Bassi, but during the public performances the British singer and dancer Jimmy McShane appeared. Maurizio Bassi and Naimy Hackett were also the authors of all the lyrics for "Baltimora". Jimmy McShane, born May 23, 1957, before being noticed by the producers of the project, worked as a paramedic for the Irish Red Cross. The song was a huge success and in the United States it remained in the top 100 of the charts for about 6 months. In Italy it reached fifth place and in England it reached third position. Subsequently, the song was included in various films and commercials, for example in the film "Ninja Turtles III". McShane was homosexual and the song “Tarzan Boy” is said to be about his sexual orientation. The subsequent "Survivor in Love" in 1987, although it did not achieve the same results as the previous one, proved to be highly appreciated, making Baltimora an important exponent of the genre. Jimmy died on March 29, 1995, at just 38 years old, after contracting the AIDS virus. Maurizio Bassi continued his musical activity collaborating with various artists such as Pupo, Piero Marras, Claudio Lolli, Eros Ramazzotti, Matia Bazar, Iva Zanicchi. In 1989 he won the "Targa Tenco" for best song with "Se me lo dicevi prima", written together with Enzo Jannacci.
